H&R Burroughs Realty – Past, Present & Future

H&R Burroughs Realty, formerly known as Burroughs Realty Co., was founded in 1992 by Richard Burroughs. Richard Burroughs began his Real Estate career forty-five years ago with thoughts of eventually owning his own brokerage.

Richard gained much of his real estate experience working as a realtor for “ParkHill Realty” one of the only minority-owned Real Estate Firms in Akron, Ohio. He was mentored by Mr. Cox, owner, and Broker of Parkhill Realty, and through his mentorship Richard Burroughs was able to gain a significant amount of knowledge about the different aspects of real estate and how to own and operate a successful real estate brokerage.

While gaining experience at Parkhill Realty, Richard Burroughs also worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation as a Real Estate Specialist. The knowledge he gained working and being mentored by Mr. Cox is what inspired him to push forth with his vision of owning and operating his own real estate brokerage.

After years of gaining unlimited knowledge at both companies, Richard decided to pursue his vision of becoming Owner and Broker of Burroughs Realty Co, renamed H&R Burroughs Realty in 1996 after his twins, Richard Jr. and Helen were born.

Growth of H&R Burroughs Realty

Thirty years later his vision has become reality and he and his wife, Loretta Burroughs, has sustained H&R Burroughs Realty ever since. With over thirty-five years of experience of being a realtor, Loretta has helped Richard Burroughs mold H&R Burroughs Realty into what it is today.

Together, Richard and Loretta Burroughs, have played a pivotal role as realtors by helping many minority investors and first-time homebuyers achieve their goals of obtaining generational wealth and homeownership. Throughout the years, Richard and Loretta have successfully advised many people on the strategies of buying, selling ,leasing and building properties throughout the State of Ohio.

New Generation of H&R Burroughs Realty

Now, in 2022 their new vision is to pass H&R Burroughs Realty on to their daughter, Helen Burroughs, who was recently appointed the President and Director of Operations of H&R Burroughs Realty.

Throughout Helen’s childhood and into adulthood Helen has adopted a plethora of real estate knowledge from her parents. She watched as they continued to build a successful real estate company, even during times of economic difficulties. After graduating from St. Vincent St. Mary High School, Helen decided to go to college instead of pursuing real estate.

However, soon after graduating from The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2018, Helen decided to begin her real estate investment journey by buying and renovating her first duplex. She began her real estate investment journey with the thought of helping her peers invest in real estate as well.

Now, she has not only successfully bought, renovated, and rented out two duplexes she has continued on the legacy of her parents by helping assist young millennials and generation Z’s, like herself, invest, sell and buy real estate.

She has plans to grow H&R Burroughs Realty by building up a strategic, professional and goal-oriented real estate team who will provide real estate services throughout the State of Ohio. Helen has also begun growing H&R Burroughs Realty through social media, networking with other realtors, first-time homebuyers, and investors, and through learning, studying, and gain knowledge about the future of the real estate industry.

Helen Burroughs is excited about the future of H&R Burroughs Realty and is determined to expand the company to new heights. Here’s to the new generation of H&R Burroughs Realty!
