AE: To answer that, I’ve got to take you back to how and why I started podcasting. My goal was to create a space for Black people to elevate themselves, both personally and professionally, where they could step up as subject matter experts. Honestly, I was podcasting before podcasting even became a thing. It all began when I was working at the Akron Urban League. I had the opportunity to host a show called Center Talks on WAKR. That’s where I met Kat McDaniel, my co-host, and we eventually renamed the show Akron Community Voice. Later, we discovered Blog Talk Radio, and that’s where we started our first podcast called Next Movement Radio, where we talked about the things we were passionate about.
We had Center Talks on WAKR, then Next Movement Radio on Blog Talk Radio, and now the Rewine Show. It’s been quite a journey.
